Service is one of the four pillars of NHS. Each active member is expected to earn 20 points of service by May 1st, drawn from a combination of the categories below. All service must be approved in advance, with no exceptions.
At least one directed group service project, organized by the chapter.
Attend at least 7 of 10 monthly meetings, each earns a half point.
A minimum of ten hours contributed to school-related service.
Combined total of individual, group, meeting, and school service by May 1st.
How Approval Works
Identify a service opportunity, either from the pre-approved list or one you propose yourself.
Complete a Service Project Form describing the project and its expected hours.
Submit the form to Ms. Jones or Ms. Woodbury for approval before the project takes place. Unapproved service cannot be counted.
After completing the project, submit your validated NHS Service Form to have your points recorded.
